BIO
Tom Kerr is a native of North Carolina, a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Asheville, and a longtime resident of Buncombe County, NC.
His work has been published in Newsweek, the Chicago Tribune, Our State Magazine, the Asheville Citizen-Times, the Houston Business Journal, and featured on PBS, ABC, CBS, and in the Boston Globe. In an Asheville Citizen-Times reader’s poll he was voted “Columnist of the Year.”
He’s currently working on a new book, The Blizzard of ’93, based on interviews with people recalling their encounters with the weather event dubbed “the storm of the century.” The project was inspired by his own astonishing experiences of the extraordinary phenomenon.
